UFOs, NewFOs and Neither

I'm gonna start with NEITHER!
While I haven't been in a quilting mood lately,
I always seem to keep some sort of stitching going.
So here's a peek at a new "side" project...more about this in a minute.

I can't believe April is already here and I never posted my progress:
UFO finished and framed...
I hung my 15 year old finally finished Lighthouse Cross Stitch
above my little fireplace mantel...it makes me smile!
Linking to Finish it First.

And the progress on my NewFO is short but sweet...
One Raggedy Ann Redwork block finished!
Linking to NewFO's.

And finally back to the NEITHER.
I started to get tired of all the red I've been working with lately,
and with April here I needed some colorful Spring cheer.
So last weekend I came across a cute, light floral embroidery pattern...
...rummaged through my embroidery floss stash...
...and have been happily stitching away the last week.

Without Rhyme nor Reason, no UFO or NewFO pressure
Just pure enjoyment working with a variety of color and stitches.

I recently contracted the cold I've been avoiding for many weeks,
but at least I have something to keep my mind occupied.

Best Wishes for your Easter!

Flutter By

Last night was Friday Night Sew In and I was able to get some work (not really work...just fun) done on my butterfly quilt.  I started experimenting with a pattern I found with some 3D elements in it.
The triangles in the middle are folded from squares and sewn into the seams of the four larger squares to form a butterly.

I just love the 3D effect!
And so simple!
The fun part is deciding which fabric to use for the butterflies.

I'm using fabric from Dream On by Urban Chiks.  Some of the larger print flowered patterns are out of my comfort zone but I love the colors and am now enjoying matching things up.

This next one is my favorite so far I think.  I like the butterfly print!
Here's a view of  some of the blocks together on my design board.
SPRING is definitely in the AIR, if not outside...in my sewing room!

There you have it...my FNSI results. I was able to finish several blocks and still have time to work on my lighthouse embroidery while watching my fav friday night shows, CSI NY and Blue Bloods.

Hope you had a FUN friday too!
