Time Out

It has been a little over 2 weeks since my last post.  And, trust me, it wasn't by choice.  My school (work) year came to a close with more than the usual graduations, birthdays, traveling and helping relatives move.  Now, being a teacher for 9 years, I'm used to the emotional and physical "crash" at the end of 2nd semester, however this year I'm having to deal with some unexpected health issues that have brought my leisure activities to a screeching halt.  And unfortunately I've had to take a break from sewing and blogging.  I really miss visiting your blogs and sharing in your quilting experiences...it has been a real struggle for me. I'll gradually work my way back because I MISS it SO much but I have to take it slow

Anyway, today was the first time in weeks I was able to spend time with my sewing machine and I finished one of my swap blocks...and that felt good!  So here it is...for Carolyn...in the Let's Bee Together swap from some FUN fabric she sent:
It's called Wind Blown Square from a book I have by Beth Donaldson

I'll post a sneak peak on the LBT site and hopefully she won't be viewing my post here before the block makes it to her in the mail.

I hope to be able to share more in the next few days as I finish my other swaps for June and also post my May blocks.

Time Flies...and sometimes we just need a Time Out.
Like it or not, life handed me one.
Hope to be in touch again soon!

I hope you're feeling much better soon. Take time to get well, and enjoy some leisurely stitching!

Hi Wendy! Don't bother going to the post office. You can't send anything to Canada until the postal strike there is over, unless it is overnight express mail. I had a package of fabric for Carolyn for a different bee, and had to bring it home with me yesterday.
Your block is very nice! I know she'll love it!

Wendy , sorry to hear you have not been feeling well, sure hope you get back to 100% real soon. Maybe you could do some handwork to keep you in the mood ;-) hugs Sheila. Oh the block is great !

I well remember having to wind down from the school year and it often took me 2 weeks to get in my sewing room and start quilting. Then I would be just getting back into it, and I mean really getting back in and it was time to start a NEW year again!!!
So, just wait for retirement and you can quilt all you want!!
Like the new square too..
Blessings and enjoy!!

I hope that things are on the up swing. Health issues can take a lot out of you. Hang in there. Great lucking block!

I totally understand. I'm praying you'll recover quickly and be strong and well enough to do whatever you would like to in the future! All the best.

Great to "see" you back here bff! I've missed you...ummm, time for coffee? That is one gorgeous uh, what do you call it? Block? I am sew not a quilter (get it, sew? - lol!) Ok, I will stop now, I have obviously had WAY too much Starbucks already today. Good to see you back. Don't overdo it though ;)
