And as if....I needed another project, after noticing quite a bit of embroidery going on around the blogs I visit, I decided to stitch up some lighthouse blocks. Hoping to coordinate with some of the ocean colored blocks I requested from my Block Swap Adventure partners.
Here is a rough draft (emphasis on "rough") of what I'll be doing. I have to practice my embroidery as I am quite rusty! For this practice swatch I quickly traced one of the patterns onto a scrap of muslin and dove in.
Now I am ready for the real deal. And better yet, I got my mom involved. She does awesome, meticulous embroidery and I'm excited to see how her lighthouses turn out too.
And finally, I will start cutting into this ....
to begin my next gift quilt...I found the perfect pattern this morning!!
Happy sewing!

I think it is great that you and your mom are working on the lighthouses. They are going to turn out great. One of these days we will have to do a project together also.
Pretty B blocks and I'm ohhhing and ahhhing over your lighthouse! That's going to be a fun fun project! Good stuff!
WOW - you have been a very busy girl! Those swap projects look so pretty - can't wait to see the full views. Loving your embroidery - are you enjoying it? And, what pretty fabric - can't wait to see what you're making!
You have been busy Wendy. Love the lighthouse!
Those colors in the fabric look yummy. I like your lighthouse. I find it interesting that all the Ozzies I know use the backstitch, and until I started doing Australian patterns, I never, ever used it.
